Weekly notices
Weekly notices: Week beginning 7th June
Today’s notices:
- 1. Flowers in church today were donated by Mae Marsden, “In memory of my husband Bob,” and Carolyn Lloyd “In memory of Mum & Dad”
- **Last chance** Refurbishment team. Wham architecture’s presentation is now on the church website, with an opportunity to provide your feedback by the end of June. To access information about all aspects of the Refurbishment project on our website: Go to www.tryst.church, and then select ‘Refurbishment’ from the menu.
- Induction service photos – there are a selection of photos from Rev Derek Peat’s induction service on our website, https://tinyurl.com/tryst-induct (What’s on / Special occasions section) and a lovely article in the Falkirk Herald online.
- Creche help We are in need of a few more volunteers for the creche. This would involve looking after the little ones during the service with another volunteer. You would only need to be on duty once every 4 to 6 weeks and PVG registration can be arranged if needed. Please contact Joanne Aikman . Any help would be really appreciated.
- Used Spectacles : a further 54 pairs of used spectacles have been handed in to R.D Macfarlane optician, Stenhousemuir to be sent to Vision Aid Overseas. Many thanks to those who have donated, further donations are welcome, please note we only need the spectacles, not cases or cleaning cloths.
ADVANCED NOTICES
6. Retiring Offering next week – The retiring offering following our next Communion service, on Sunday 14th June will be for Maggie’s. They provide valuable support for those going through cancer treatment and we are fortunate that there is a Maggie’s Centre at Forth Valley Royal.
7. Race for Life – Marina Porteous will be taking part in this year’s Race for Life at Callendar Park on 21st June in aid of Cancer Research UK. “As a survivor of cancer, I want to do something to help repay my debt to this amazing charity, which has helped develop many new treatments. It means that cancer is no longer the death sentence it used to be. In the UK, the chance of getting cancer at some time in our lives is almost 50%, so the work they do is absolutely vital. If you would like to sponsor me, I will be in the hall after the service. Alternatively, you can go to my Facebook page and donate online if that’s easier for you.”
8. Vine Trust – Fiona Jardine – In September I am going to Moshi in Tanzania with a Vine Trust work party to help build a house for a vulnerable family. To raise money for the building fund, I am challenging myself to complete as many Tai Chi sets as I can in 8 hours. I will be doing this on Wednesday 24th June in the Church Hall. If you would like to contribute, I have a sponsor form or you can go directly to my fundraising page at https://www.vinetrust.org/u/fd869 Thank you.
