Refurbishment of the Church and Halls
The main project is exploration of how we can adapt our building to best support our mission to share the Good News of Jesus Christ in our community. And the purpose of the project is therefore to support and accelerate that mission and outreach into the community, so that we can fill our church with people who do not normally come through our doors.
Feasibility Study and Design Option Summary
We have appointed Wham Architecture to work with us on the refurbishment project. Following completion of a laser survey of the church and grounds, Wham Architecture presented their Design Option Summary to the congregation on 1st February 2026, the key elements of which are in the viewable and downloadable file below:
(For reasons of commercial confidentiality, the estimated costs are not shown in the above document.)
The next step is a period of consultation where we’ll show all these ideas from our architect to church groups and to the wider community. Thereafter, we’re going to work towards making a decision on which designs make it through to construction. That will allow Wham Architecture to do drawings and designs that will lead to planning permissions and consents. And then we’ll be able to tender for construction work. It is unlikely that there will be any construction work happening this year – it’s more like to start in 2027.
To achieve this ambitious project we need your help. We need your help to fund our project and we need your help to access grant funding. If anyone has experience of obtaining grants and doing grant applications and is or anybody is willing to help, please come forward and speak to the Refurbishment Team.
And most important – please pray for the refurbishment project. The project’s purpose is to support and accelerate our mission to share the Good News of Jesus Christ in our community, and therefore everything we do in the refurbishment project must be to the Glory of our Lord and supported by prayer.
